COHOES, NEW YORK — Alex Ojeda has begun a mentorship with Ken Ellis, CEO of Aquatic Development Group (ADG) and owner of H2OBX Waterpark, to deepen his understanding of the industry behind the attractions he shares with millions of viewers.

The relationship offers Ojeda an opportunity to learn about waterpark development and operations directly from an industry leader whose experience spans designing attractions, building parks, and operating resort destinations.

Learning the Business Behind the Experience

Ojeda began building an online audience at age 15, initially creating comedy and trend-driven videos before bringing his longtime interest in waterparks into his content.

By June 2023, his TikTok audience had grown to more than eight million followers. His videos take viewers inside waterparks around the world, capturing attractions, ride experiences, and the details that make each destination distinctive.

The mentorship adds an operational perspective to that work: an opportunity to better understand how the experiences he films are conceived, built, and delivered to guests.

Experience Across Design, Development, and Operations

At the time of the announcement, Ellis brought more than 20 years of experience as ADG’s CEO, alongside over a decade developing and operating a year-round resort destination.

Under his leadership, ADG has developed aquatic attractions, advanced wave-generation technology, and designed and built waterparks throughout the United States. The company’s attractions and equipment have been used in more than 4,000 facilities worldwide.

As both an industry supplier and a park owner, Ellis brings insight into the decisions that connect attraction design with day-to-day operations and the guest experience.

Building a Deeper Industry Understanding

For Ojeda, the mentorship represents a chance to build on his experience as a visitor and creator by learning from someone working behind the scenes.

Understanding how parks operate adds context to the stories he tells and supports his continued involvement in the waterpark industry.

Thank you to Ken Ellis and the ADG team for sharing their time, knowledge, and experience.
